Why does the myvaletbay app use location information?
The app uses location information ONLY to track whether a user is ‘on site’ or ‘off site’. This information is used to clock users on site or offsite with a time stamp. We do not persist any location information apart from arrival on site or departed from site. The only information we then store is a timestamp along with which site you were at.
How does the app know my location?
The app uses background services to determine when your location has significantly changed. We then review whether the user is ‘on site’ or ‘off site’ by comparing your current location to EVS Valeting sites.
Why collect location information in the background?
We collect the above mentioned location data in the background to enable automatic clocking in and out of site, even when the app is closed or not in use. Without automatically clocking in the background, users would have to launch the app and manually clock in and out of site each time they move between locations.
