A web browser used as a mobile workforce data collection tool
An application designed to help with the transfer of information between a mobile workforce and the office had been developed by an internal resource. The application managed quotes and jobs with a portal for customers to view information about their work. The individual who did the original development had left and was becoming less and less interested in the on-going support and development of the application while working for someone else.
Our customer had made a significant investment in the application and were generally happy with what it did. They did not want to write that investment off. They asked if Springboard could support them and maybe in the future develop their existing bespoke software further.
The solution was to implement a proper software development environment with a test environment and live environment that was properly maintained and regularly updated with security patches. Springboard could work without affecting the live system. We were able to learn the system and check our understanding, before releasing any bug fixes and making them live on the main software.
