Get rid of a few bottlenecks to make an OK software package into a really good tool.
Feeling happy – just come from one of those satisfying client meetings. You know – leaving you with an ‘it’s all worthwhile’ buzz.
A few years ago we acquired a client who had purchased a piece of software that would enable them to automate some regular procedures within their business. This would free up time to develop the business. The software was good. The idea was good.
But… Catch 22 – You don’t have time to learn how to use software that should save you time!
In practice, time is short, there are always more urgent things to be done. The time required to learn how to use the software meant that it was not being used.
SpringboardIT helped our client over his first hurdle. Since then, he has now identified many different processes that have been automated. From processing of sales orders, production of accounting reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, to sophisticated credit control and supplier payment management.
The short payback on each element let us move onto the next challenge. Our client has realised their vision of freeing time from the mundane and time-consuming to tasks that actively move the business forward.
The moral of the story – well, software has to be made to work in the real world. It doesn’t exist in a vacuum. How it fits with your business, staff and customers is every bit as important as the IT technology you use.
This is how Springboard IT works with its customers.
This is a classic example of how SpringboardIT work. With a pragmatic approach “This is where we are, so we start here” our skills and interests exactly matched those needed to make software really work for the client. And then to continue the relationship, because there is always another challenge round the corner.
