Windows Communication Foundation
Server-side application development – The possibilities are endless…
After coming across Windows Communication Foundation (WFC) at Springboard IT, we decided it would be worth our while looking in to it a bit more.
Potentially it’s a very powerful tool. The idea behind it is that it allows the programmer to build server-orientated applications. This opens up the door for many different scenarios, whether it be a chat service that allows two people to communicate or exchange data in real time. Perhaps a service that supplies current data to others, such as a traffic report or other monitoring services.
The documentation on it is very comprehensive. MSDN seem to have every aspect of it covered – for whatever solution you may need.
Overall WCF gets massive thumbs up from us and we will endeavour to use it to its full ability in our up and coming projects.
